After almost a year out of Cambodia, I’ve come to realize how badly I’ve been missing Cambodian food and my mom’s cooking. Believe it or not, there are just so much that I am craving, and I would do anythin’ to get them RIGHT NOW! I imagine I would eat like crazy when I’m home this summer. So there you go!!! Here is a list of the top 10 foods I want.To all my buddies out there, mind you have them ready for me please! I know how much you guys care for me and I am more than sure you will! Lol.
How about those of you who are overseas as I am? What would your list be?
1. Baby Duck Eggs (ពងទាកូន)

2. Samlor M’choo K’roeung (សម្លរម្ជូរគ្រឿង)

3. Amok (អាម៉ុក)

4. Khmer Noodles(នំបញ្ចុក)

5. Suki Soup (ស៊ូគីស៊ុប)

Not exactly a Cambodian food, but I am also dying for it.
6. Escagots (ខ្យងស្ងោរ)

7. Cambodian Bread with Pate (នំប៉័ងប៉ាតេ)

8. Teuk K’roeung (ទឹកគ្រឿង)

I’ve got no picture of this food, but these veggies are driving me crazy.
9. Fried Rice Pancake (នំគូឆាយ)

10. All the Khmer Fruits and Sourie Snacks

Oh .. those are exactly what I am missing too.
I do love escargot
looks yummy…i’d like to try all of them when i go to cambodia in november…and also frog curry (koukep?).
Hehehe. Don’t worry, Mungkol. I’ll definitely eat them for you.
Ah Mariko! You love Kangkep as well? Stir-fried Frog with curry is also a famous Cambodian specialty. I wish you would come in Aug, while I am there. I’ll ask my mom to make it for you. She is a great cook!!!
Too bad I wouldn’t be able to make it in august. I love home-cooked meals.
In Nueva Ecija (my province), frog is a common dish. I want my frogs cooked with vinegar, garlic, soy, and pepper. Kangkep is at the top of my list of food to eat in Cambodia.
I also love escargot and baby duck eggs. *am feeling hungry now*
My god !
I want to have frying morning glories so much as i could not find it here in Brussels in Asian Market.
Most of which you have showed……… i had it sometimes…… and even could be so easily to find it even the price is third, fourth, fifth time as expensive as at home…..
I could imagine how badly homesick you are mongkol ! I had this too last few years but since i had visit home last summer i could calm down my badly feeling then…
Don’t eat too much eh when you visit home ah…. otherwise pig in US would ashame of you when you are back!

Amyourlove,
I have my own dietary technique.. Thank you for caring… Pigs in America are too big. It will take years until I grow as fat as they are. Lols..

I can, but they are way from being as good as those in our country. We have a different version of Suki here. It’s called Shabu Shabu. It’s not bad but I still prefer the one in Cambodia.
I’ll let you laugh at me now. When u r in Syracuse, you’ll know why I whined. Hehehe.
Mongkol!
How come I’ve never seen these foods when I was in Cambodia? Haha! Maybe Numbers 2 and 5, not so sure yet though if they were the ones! But I love the fish with herbs in Khmer-Thai Restaurant! Would you know its name? We loved the soup as well! It looked like number 2!
Thanks for sharing this!
Hey Pam,
The soup you ate is a different one. It’s called Samlor Kako.. Very rich in taste and full of vegies. Number 2 looks rather similar, but it’s more sour. The other food that you ate is called Trey Jamhoi or Steamed Fish. There are quite a variety of versions of it. Come back soon! I’ll ask my mom to make all these for you. She’s a number 1 cook.
Baby duck eggs are my favorite.
Send me an email when you visit the Philippines. I’d be happy to show you around or suggest places to go.

Very nice! I had to comment. Love those pictures. Makes me miss Srok Khmer! I’ve been there three times….and I took the opportunity to eat all of the exotic fruits and most authentic dishes there was to offer. It can’t get any better than that. I love Khmer food. Can’t wait to return to Siem Reap.
