Book I’m Reading

  1. Can you share this book? I’m very interesting in it. I downloaded the book in a jpeg format. It’s not clear.

Thank you so much if you can. :)

  2. Heya!! luckily, Just do a surfing and I’ve got the book now.

    Thanks!

  3. I don’t like reading on monitor, so I have to wait!:)

  4. I’ve got the UK version. :) I can sell that you V.

  5. You see, and believe me? I’ve told you that there are 2 type of Harry Potter in English, UK, and US. UK is easier to read then US, for me but I maybe not for you. Whatever, I will buy the second-hand from you ក៏បាន. But, please make a reasonable price for me, OK! :D

  6. I don’t like reading e-books either. The only e-book I read was “The Da Vinci Code” and that was because it was too good to stop lolz. Anyway, B.OEU.N, you should crosscheck your Deathly Hallows e-book, there are a lot of fakes floating around…

I’ve read only the U.K. edition of all the Harry Potter books. Does anyone have any idea what the differences between the U.K. and U.S. editions are? If there are significant differences I’ll probably buy the U.S. edition too because I’m now in the process of rereading every book to make sure I haven’t missed anything :-)

  7. I don’t think there is any big difference between the UK and US version. My understanding is that two different publishers Bloomsbury and Scholarstic published Harry Potter in the US and the US. When V said that the UK version is easier to read than the US one, he must be talking about the UK children edition.

And yeah I don’t like e-books either. I hate straining my eyes on the monitor. I need them on papers. :)

  8. I don’t know how to explain the differences between UK and US edition. From the 1st to 6th I read in UK, except the 2nd one “Harry Potter and the Secret of Chamber” I borrowed it from my cousin, we found that UK is better. Whatever, if there is no difference between UK and US, why they have to make into 2 editions? I don’t think that spelling is the main reason (EX. Organization or Organisation) and I don’t think that the entire UK editions that I’ve read are children edition too.

Mongkol, you’ve stayed in US more than a year and you are now in UK. Do you see or noted any differences between English US and UK except the accent?

  9. Like I said, Harry Potter comes out in two versions because two different companies have received the exclusive rights to distribute the books in the UK and the US. Bloomsbury distributes in the UK and the world, whereas Scholastic covers the US and other Americas.

  10. Yeah, I think the two publishers are one of the differences. However, adult and children editions are exactly the same, just with different book jackets.

I guess there may be some differences in spellings and word use as well. Like they say “theatre” in the U.K., but “theater” in the U.S. And they say “cupcake” in the U.K., but “muffin” in the U.S. or sth like that…

Anyway, I’ve just finished book 1 again. I think this is the fifth time I’ve read book 1.
