Suasdei guys,
First of all, thank you so much for popping into this little blog of mine.
Posing in style and giving a big smile to you here is Somongkol Teng, a simple guy, born, growing up and working in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Personality-wise, I consider myself rather playful, outgoing and caring yet can be serious when I need to. I am inquisitive about things around me. I love to explore new things and places, and network with people. That’s probably why traveling is always among my top priorities. As long as time allows, you will be seeing me trotting around with some of my crazy folks in places you can imagine of. I have so far been to 15 countries, namely Australia, France, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.
I also have a strong of love for photography. I always come back with tons of pictures whenever I travel. I remember once being nicknamed a Japanese because I took pictures of almost anything. Thus first time visitors should not be surprised when seeing loads of them here.
Turning to education, I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Education (TEFL) from the Institute of Foreign Languages, Royal University of Phnom Penh in 2003, and a Master’s in Higher Education Administration from Boston College in Boston, Massachussetts, USA, in December 2007, under a Fulbright grant. Currently I am pursuing a doctoral degree in Comparative and International Development Education at the University of Minnesota at Twin Cities.
Professionally, before coming to the United States, I was a lecturer of English at the Institute of Foreign Languages, and a part-time freelance Master of Ceremony and English-Khmer translator. If you need an MC or translator, please consult my translation service page for further details.
I can be contacted at angkorianboy [at] gmail.com. I happily welcome constructive comments from you all.

Hi Mongkol,
It’s a nice site…
Everyday, I know that you miss everything here in cambodia especially family, friends, Khmer dishes, and so on. Day missing, month remember, year waiting… Right? Me too, i miss everything in Nippon Maru….
Summer has gone and the spring has come. It’s the hardest time for
people abroad like you to bear with “HOME SICK” disease.
Remember that you can go back after you finish your “MISSION IMPOSSIBLE” there.
Ha ha ha….

Hey, Mongkol! Can you do a blog about Khmer cinema and what’s going on with it at the moment? I’m studying in the US right now so I don’t know any news regarding it. My goal, not to sound pretentiously ambitious or anything, is to revive Khmer cinema. I’m still amateur but I’m learning. So yea, please do a blog about Khmer cinema. Thanks
